Renowned merengue composer Alex Boutique, along with his band Los Reyes del Mambo, is gearing up for a world tour across the United States and other countries. This series of performances is expected to be watershed moments in the history of Dominican urban folklore.

The musician and band are widely anticipated in major U.S. cities, with their tour kicking off on Sunday, August 10, featuring an appearance at the most prominent Dominican parade in Manhattan, New York.

Following that, Alex Boutique will take the stage at clubs, nightspots, festivals, and cultural events throughout America and Latin America.

Alex Boutique, often known as "The King of Carnival," is the most prominent representative of the Dominican Alibaba rhythm, that has resonated over the country's regions and communities—and even beyond its borders—for over 30 years.

The International Tour follows his recent signing with AQD Records, a Dominican- owned record label situated in New Jersey. The label's purpose is to expand the artist's vast musical and cultural heritage, including celebrated songs such as "Mambo Alibaba," "El Celular," and "Dame Luz."

Los Reyes del Mambo pledges to give a one-of-a-kind presentation in every venue, a lively reflection of the Dominican carnival's traditional energy and sound, a genre that has garnered critical acclaim and a devoted following that now has the opportunity to spread beyond borders and cultures.

About Alex Boutique

Born Francisco Blanco on October 15, 1967, in the Villa Francisca neighborhood of Santo Domingo, Alex's interest in carnival traditions was sparked early on by his father and brother, who dressed as “Diablos Cojuelos” — eye-catching characters known for dancing with a limp and wearing colorful costumes and ornate masks.

During the 1990s, Alex performed in a number of “comparsas” (carnival groups) before developing his own dance and music ensembles, finally becoming the dominant figure of the Alibaba rhythm in the Dominican capital.

His unique and fresh approach to folklore later spread to music. In 2000, he partnered with Luis Reyes to record and release some of his most recognized tunes, introducing his vivid style to a larger musical audience and building a devoted fan base that continues to dance to his joyous, energetic sounds.
